My Experience with ChatPDF
Let’s actually try the tool to see whether it actually works or is just hype.
I found a sample PDF about computers and security that I’m using as a resource.
I entered the URL of the PDF for ChatPDF to analyze.
It only took about 15 seconds for it to find the PDF.
Here’s a view that opens up once I uploaded the PDF to the system:

On the right-hand side, I can ask ChatPDF anything about the PDF, which is impressive.
But let’s see if it actually works. Let’s first ask how to avoid viruses based on the PDF:

But can this really work? Is it actually right?

So the ChatPDF pretty much nailed it. And it did it blazingly fast in only 15 seconds.
This is pretty impressive to me.
But that’s just one message. Let’s try another one.
Once again, in just 10 seconds or so, it found the answer, references it nicely, and even formatted a short overview.

But those pieces of information covered big parts of the page and perhaps those were just easy to find.

Pretty good job! Obviously, because this is just a summary, it left something out. But this is impressive.
One issue I found with ChatPDF was that the UI got stuck sometimes. For example, it did not answer my very first question at all. Also, I once got a mysterious error message from the tool.
Also, because of the limitations of AI, ChatPDF is not good with super-long PDFs. The one that I used was only 10 pages in length. But if you have like 1,000 words, it’s getting a lot harder.
Of course, this technology is getting better and better all the time. Only time will tell how good these types of software are in a couple of years.
But for now, it’s already super impressive and saves a ton of time.
